2026 Road Projects

The Public Works Department will be working on routine roadway maintenance and improvement work will be taking place throughout the Town, in the Town’s right-of-way, beginning this spring and continuing through the summer and into the fall months.

This work is part of our ongoing efforts to maintain and improve the safety, drainage, and overall condition of our local roadways. The scope of work may include, but is not limited to, brush cutting, ditching, replacement of cross culverts, and, where necessary, replacement of driveway culverts.

The following roads are scheduled for this work:

·         Beauchamp Street

·         Calderwood Lane

·         High Street

·         Kimberly Drive

·         Main Street (from Central Street to the harbor)

·         Meadow Street (between Route 17 and Route 90)

·         Ship Street

·         South Street (from Beech Hill to Meadow Street)

·         South Street (from Porter Street to Route 1)

·         Warrenton Street

·         Upham Lane

These preparatory improvements are being completed in advance of paving operations planned for 2026. Paving is typically scheduled during the months of September or October.

Public Works are also planning on completing the same scope of work on some of the Town’s unpaved roads, which include:

·         Beauchamp Point Road

·         Chappel Road
