Jacob Powers, Reserve Officer
Officer Jacob (aka Jake) Powers graduated from Camden Hills high school in Rockport. While in high school he was a multiple time state champion wrestler and earned a wrestling scholarship to Lock Haven University in PA. While at Lock Haven University he pursued a degree in Criminal Justice while wrestling for their NCAA Division 1 wrestling program. He then spent 2 years at Lock Haven University before transferring to the University of Maine Orono to finish out his junior and senior years. While at the University of Maine he pursued a degree in Sociology with a concentration in Crime, Law and Deviance. During his junior year he completed an internship with the Maine State Police for the summer. During his senior year he competed for the University of Maine NCWA Wrestling program. While wrestling for the program he achieved All-American status by qualifying for the national championships and placing 4th in the nation. He graduated from the University of Maine Orono with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. He also graduated from the 31st Basic Law Enforcement Training Program, and then spent time working for the Maine State Police as well as the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office before being hired as a Patrolman for the Town of Rockport. Officer Powers’ pastimes include spending time with family, hunting/fishing/hiking and working out at the gym.
