Mission Statement

The mission of the Finance Department is to properly maintain and report on all expenditures and revenues of the town; to assist town management in developing a budget annually according to the Government Finance Officers Association's (GFOA) best recommended practices; to process all government reporting regarding personnel in a timely manner; to assist personnel in their human resources needs; and to provide accurate financial information.

The Finance Office is situated in the Town Office Building located at 101 Main Street, Rockport, Maine.

Capital Improvement Plan

The Town for many years has had a Capital Improvement Plan for large purchases for Public Works, the Police Department and the Fire Department. This is a draft plan that builds on what we already had, but is meant to include all major repairs and replacements that we can predict in the future. The Capital Improvement Committee is now actively working on setting priorities for these items.

Policies

There are a number of financial policies, which the town has adopted, to better serve the public and to ensure that the town's finances are secure.

Wastewater

The town Wastewater bills are issued by The Maine Water Company. Any billing inquiries are directed to The Maine Water Company at 207-282-1543. The billing offices for Maine Water are located at 93 Industrial Park Road in Saco.

 Non-payment of wastewater fees is subject to the lien process.
