BUDGET COMMITTEE
The purpose of the Budget Committee of the Town of Rockport is to study and review the proposed budget and all articles in the annual warrant or special town meeting warrant that impact the finances of the Town of Rockport and to make recommendations on those warrant articles and the final budget to the voters on the ballot or to the annual town meeting or special Town meeting.
As part of the budget review process, the budget committee attends the budget review sessions during which the Select Board meet with the Town Manager and Department Heads to review the budget requests and proposals for the coming fiscal year. After reviewing the Select Board's budget proposal the Budget Committee meets and adopts final budget recommendations.
These recommendations are placed on the warrant articles for review at the Annual Town Meeting.
The purpose of these bylaws is to establish reasonable rules of procedure for Committee meetings and to promote the fair, orderly, and efficient conduct of the Committee’s proceedings and affairs.
