07-25-2025 - Our New Basketball Courts are OPEN!!!!!

A Huge Thank You to the Lesher Family for the extremely generous donation to allow the Town to complete the full remodel of the Marge Jones basketball courts.

After 25 years of use and winter months the courts where to far gone to just repair. Maine Tennis and Track inspected and confirmed the courts would require a complete remodel due to the damage.

The rebuild consisted of removing the old pavement, taking down the fence, re-leveling the playing surface, 2.5" of new pavement, perimeter drains, new hoops, new green paint, lines, and soon to come a gazebo over one end with picnic tables. The fence was able to be reused.

Also, a big thank you to the Rockport Public Works for their work on the fence takedown, and drainage, Performance Pavement and Jake for paving and Tom Fence for re-installing the fence and fixing many of the posts.
