Revaluation Resources
With letters of new value being sent out to taxpayers, the preliminary value increases can be seen on the bell curve to the left. This details the percentage change in value for all properties in town. The average increase is 14.84%. With any revaluation some values will decrease, some will stay the same and some will increase. This does not mean that your tax bill be increase by the same percentage as your value. The tax rate will be available by early September.
“A bell curve, also known as a normal distribution, is a symmetrical, bell-shaped curve that represents the distribution of data where most values cluster around the mean (average). The curve slopes downward on either side of the mean, with fewer data points further away from the center.” (Source: Google)
